Women’s Basic Chainsaw Safety

Women’s Basic Chainsaw Safety: For women with little or no prior experience who would like an introduction to the tool. Course will cover: parts of a chainsaw, safety, bucking (cutting an already felled tree), and basic maintenance. Participants must bring a safety helmet with face shield, eye and ear protection, chaps, as well as lunch, water, and snacks for the day. Bringing a chainsaw is recommended, but not required. See Woodland Training’s FAQ for additional information. Registration is required as space is limited. Ages 14, with registered and paying parent or guardian over 18, and up. $220 / person.

Cancellation up to 10 days prior to the program will incur a $20 administrative fee. Cancellations made 10 or fewer days prior to the program will not be refunded, unless we are able to fill your spot, in which case you will receive a full refund, less the $20 administrative fee. Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. If a program is postponed due to extreme weather (a very rare occurrence), participants are expected to attend the program on the rescheduled date. Should Merck Forest cancel the program due to unforeseen circumstances, and the program is not rescheduled, a full refund will be issued.
