Make a Gift

For 75 years, Merck Forest & Farmland Center has inspired curiosity, love, and responsibility for natural and working lands. During this special anniversary year, we look forward to honoring our history and embarking on exciting new adventures. We invite you to celebrate with us in 2025!

Why Your Support Matters

George Merck believed in the power of land and learning. Today, Merck Forest exists thanks to people like you—members, donors, and visitors who care about conservation and education.

Did you know? While we share a name, Merck Forest is not funded by Merck Pharmaceuticals. We're an independent nonprofit, and every trail hiked, class attended, and farm visit is made possible by our members and donors!

Your Impact

Time spent outside and connecting with the land has immense value. When you support Merck Forest & Farmland Center, you're helping to:

Welcome more than 20,000 visitors annually to our 3,500-acre property in rural Rupert (population 700)

Maintain 35 miles of trails for hikers, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers

Preserve a critical wildlife corridor within the Northern Appalachian-Acadian Ecoregion, the largest intact temperate forest left on Earth

Provide transformational education through summer camps, school programs, and hands-on workshops

Train tomorrow's land stewards through internships and apprenticeships that lead to careers in natural resource management

Reconnect with Nature. Support a Legacy of Learning.

We know that time spent outdoors has the power to inspire, heal, and transform. Our trails, cabins, and year-round recreational opportunities invite visitors to explore breathtaking vistas, find moments of quiet reflection, and experience the magic of nature firsthand.

Your impact extends beyond recreation. We help train the next generation of land stewards, educators, and rural entrepreneurs. Young people have found purpose and pathways to careers in natural resource management, technical skills, and environmental education through hands-on learning at Merck Forest & Farmland Center.

As the climate warms, landscapes like Merck Forest are no longer just scenic—they're essential for biodiversity, building climate resilience, and sustaining rural economies. Together, we can protect and nurture this special place for generations to come.

THANK YOU.
