Vermont’s Wild Future: Bridging Our Past, Present, and Climate Horizon
In partnership with Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning, join us this evening for an exploration of Vermont’s landscapes, as we connect history, ecology, and our shared climate future.

About the event
Join Merck Forest & Farmland Center’s Executive Director for an evening of discovery exploring how Vermont’s landscapes connect history, ecology, and our shared climate future. Using Merck Forest as a case study, we’ll trace the region’s ecological evolution, examine how climate change is reshaping our world in real time, and highlight the global significance of this 3,500-acre haven for wildlife and biodiversity.
Set at the edge of one of Vermont’s largest unfragmented forest blocks, recognized for “highest conservation value” in the state, Merck Forest stands as a living example of how local stewardship supports global climate resilience.
Gain fresh insight into how shifting conditions affect forests and wildlife, and engage in a conversation about what we can do, together, to shape Vermont’s wild future.
