Birch bark makes a great campfire starter because it’s easy to find, light to carry, and burns even when wet. But what else can we use birch bark for? Meet up around the campfire with Merck Forest & Farmland Center field educators to craft some birch bark decorations to brighten up your holiday season!

Merck Forest & Farmland Center holds Second Saturday programs each month at the Library, teaching environmental science and outdoor survival skills, and facilitating exciting nature-based activities for kids ages 6 and up.
