Vernal Pool Ecology and the Citizen Scientist NEW FORMAT!
March 20
$10

We have a new format for our Vernal Pool Ecology Program: in an ONLINE workshop we will discuss what a vernal pool is and why it matters to a special group of migratory amphibians. Tim Duclos, MFFC’s Conservation Manager, has created a video presentation focused on native amphibians and their breeding habits in woodland vernal pools. We’ll explore what defines a vernal pool and why these unique and sensative habitats are vital to a particular group of migratory amphibians.
In addition, we will discuss ways in which you — as a citizen scientist — can monitor vernal pool amphibians at pools and at locations where these species can be found crossing roads during ‘big nights’. Fee: $10; register for the ONLINE workshop HERE.
